Sovrinti Shows Promising Results in Elderly Care Monitoring
At the 2023 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America, Sovrinti unveiled encouraging findings from a study conducted between 2019 and 2023. The study, sponsored by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), demonstrated Sovrinti's ability to detect changes in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) scores with remarkable accuracy, on par with or even surpassing clinical standards.
The study involved 117 pairs of CareRecipients and CareGivers and utilized Sovrin IoT in-home sensing technology. By comparing Sovrinti IoT ADL Scores with monthly ADL survey data, researchers found significant correlations with traditional ADL scores. Notably, Sovrinti showed sensitivity to changes in Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) and Basic Activities of Daily Living (BADL), aligning closely with the study's objectives.
However, Sovrinti's system exhibited less sensitivity to certain ADL subfactors, such as communications and engagement, which are not directly measurable by its technology. Despite this, the system effectively captured changes in household activities, reflecting its focus on monitoring daily living tasks.
Overall, Sovrinti demonstrated sensitivity comparable to standard ADL surveys, making it a promising tool for proactive elderly care management. These findings mark a significant step forward in leveraging technology to enhance the quality of life for older adults.
